ProvidusUnity Bank has intensified its engagement with customers and prospective customers in Northern Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen relationships and improve the delivery of financial services.

The bank recently held customer engagement forums in Kano, Sokoto and Abuja, attracting more than 1,000 participants. The meetings form part of a broader nationwide stakeholder engagement programme following the completion of the merger and integration that gave rise to ProvidusUnity Bank.

The forums provided customers with an opportunity to interact directly with the bank’s management and business teams, discuss their financial needs and learn more about the products and services available to them.

Key areas discussed during the engagements included lending and credit facilities, customer experience, digital banking, payment solutions, trade services and export financing. Customers and business owners were also able to explore how the bank’s offerings could help them expand their operations and improve efficiency.

The engagement programme comes as ProvidusUnity Bank seeks to leverage the increased scale and capabilities created by the merger while maintaining close relationships with its customers.

According to the bank, direct interaction with customers will help it better understand changing expectations and gather feedback that can guide the development of products, services and its overall operating model.

Speaking at one of the forums, ProvidusUnity Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Walter Akpani, said the strength of the newly combined institution should ultimately be reflected in better customer experiences and more relevant financial solutions.

Akpani said the bank would continue to engage customers, listen to their priorities and identify new ways of supporting their ambitions.

He noted that the bank’s services—including financing, digital banking, payments, trade support and advisory services—are designed to assist businesses and individuals while contributing to wider economic development.

The bank said the Northern Nigeria forums represent the first phase of its nationwide engagement initiative, with similar interactions expected to take place in other parts of the country.

The initiative is expected to further strengthen ProvidusUnity Bank’s relationship with customers while enabling the financial institution to tailor its solutions to the evolving needs of businesses and individuals across Nigeria.
