Binance Invests $100m in Circle to Expand USDC Reach in Emerging Markets
Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance has invested $100 million in Circle Internet Group, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, as both companies deepen their partnership and seek to expand the use of digital dollars in emerging markets.
The investment, announced on September 22, 2026, is expected to strengthen collaboration between the two companies, particularly in promoting USDC adoption across global digital asset markets.
USDC is a dollar-backed stablecoin designed to maintain a value equivalent to one US dollar. It is widely used for cryptocurrency trading, digital payments and transferring funds across borders.
Under the expanded partnership, Binance plans to integrate USDC more extensively into its savings and investment products. The cryptocurrency exchange is also expected to introduce incentives, including reduced trading fees on USDC-denominated trading pairs, to encourage greater use of the stablecoin.
The move builds on an existing partnership between Binance and Circle, which began in December 2024. The earlier agreement focused on making USDC more accessible to Binance’s global customer base and increasing its use across the exchange’s products and services.
Emerging markets are becoming an important area of expansion for stablecoin providers, as individuals and businesses increasingly explore digital dollar alternatives for payments, savings and international transactions.
For Circle, the partnership offers an opportunity to expand USDC’s distribution through Binance’s extensive global user network. For Binance, the investment strengthens its relationship with one of the major issuers of dollar-backed digital assets.
The development also reflects growing competition among cryptocurrency platforms and stablecoin providers to expand their presence in international markets, particularly regions where demand for dollar-linked digital assets is increasing.
As the partnership progresses, both companies are positioning USDC for broader use across cryptocurrency trading, financial products and digital payment services.
