The Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint Inc., Tosin Eniolorunda, has been selected for the 2026 TIME100 Next, TIME magazine’s annual list recognising emerging leaders with growing influence across different sectors.

Eniolorunda is the only African featured among the business, technology and artificial intelligence leaders on this year’s list, according to reports.

The TIME100 Next recognises individuals considered to be shaping the future across areas including business, technology, politics, science, sports and culture.

Recognition for Financial Inclusion

Eniolorunda was recognised for his role in developing financial infrastructure that has expanded access to banking and payment services for businesses and individuals in Nigeria.

Founded in 2015, Moniepoint has grown into one of Africa’s major fintech companies and attained unicorn status in 2024. The company says it now serves more than 20 million businesses and individuals, while its agency banking network reaches all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

The company has also continued to expand its financial technology offerings, providing payments, banking, credit and business management services to businesses and consumers.

TIME previously recognised Moniepoint in 2025, naming the fintech among its 100 Most Influential Companies.

Tony Elumelu Writes Tribute

Businessman and Heirs Holdings Chairman Tony Elumelu wrote the tribute accompanying Eniolorunda’s TIME100 Next profile.

Elumelu, who was himself named to the TIME100 list in 2020, highlighted Eniolorunda’s entrepreneurial journey and his contribution to building financial infrastructure for African businesses.

In his response, Eniolorunda expressed appreciation for the recognition but attributed the achievement to the wider Moniepoint team and the millions of customers who use its services.

He said the honour reinforced his commitment to building technology that helps African businesses start, operate and expand.

More Recognition for Moniepoint

The latest honour comes amid a series of international recognitions for Moniepoint and its executives.

On September 22, 2026, Moniepoint Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Felix Ike was included in TIME’s inaugural Executives of the Year list for Tech and Data.

The company was also featured in TIME’s 2025 list of the 100 Most Influential Companies, reflecting its growing profile in Africa’s financial technology sector.

The 2026 TIME100 Next honourees are scheduled to be celebrated at TIME’s annual event in New York on October 29.

Eniolorunda’s inclusion places another Nigerian technology executive on an international platform and highlights the increasing global attention being given to African-founded companies developing solutions for the continent’s financial and business challenges.
