Dangote Industries Partners CNN to Spotlight Africa’s Global Business Rise
Dangote Industries Limited has entered into a multi-year partnership with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) to promote African businesses and highlight the continent’s growing influence on global commerce.
The partnership will anchor a new half-hour television programme, Africa Inc., which is scheduled to debut on CNN International on August 29, 2026. The programme will examine African companies competing on the global stage across industries including manufacturing, technology, hospitality and entertainment.
Hosted by Adefemi Akinsanya, Africa Inc. is expected to move beyond the conventional portrayal of Africa as an emerging market by focusing on companies that are already influencing consumer markets, innovation and international business.
The programme will run alongside other content developed as part of the partnership. CNNIC’s in-house creative studio, Create, will produce Africa First, a branded content series examining Africa’s economic transformation and progress towards greater energy independence.
The campaign will feature human-interest films, data-driven digital stories and social media content distributed across CNN’s international and digital platforms, including CNN.com and CNN Arabic. The partnership also includes Dangote’s sponsorship of three editions of CNN’s Global Perspectives events over the next 12 months.
For Dangote Industries, the deal provides an international platform for the group to communicate its industrial expansion and broader ambitions for Africa.
Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Industries, said the partnership supports the company’s global brand positioning strategy and its Vision 2030 blueprint.
He described CNNIC as an important platform for showcasing the pace of industrialisation taking place across Africa.
CNNIC Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales Cathy Ibal said the partnership reflects a shared objective of bringing stories of African innovation, leadership and resilience to a global audience.
The agreement comes at a time when Dangote Industries is expanding its international profile, with its businesses increasingly positioned around large-scale manufacturing and efforts to strengthen domestic and regional production capacity.
The partnership also gives Dangote access to CNN’s international television, digital and event audiences, providing the Nigerian conglomerate with a wider platform to engage investors, business executives and other global decision-makers.
For CNN, the collaboration adds an influential African corporate partner to its commercial content and events portfolio while creating a dedicated platform for stories about businesses shaping the continent’s economic future.
